The BOS system
Books on Shelves combines a shelf-rental and royalty partnership between independent
authors and brick-and-mortar bookstores in Australia and New Zealand.
BOS provides authors with a disciplined, innovative programme for allocating a portion of
their marketing budget away from the unreliability of social media platforms and their
unrewarding results.
By joining the BOS scheme, the author is published, their book appears on the shelf of a
bookstore of their choosing, and they receive a guaranteed royalty payment of generous
proportions.
By joining the BOS scheme, the bookstore does not pay for the books, which are delivered
free of charge to the store, plus a prepaid shelf rental, and retains the full sale price of the
book.
