1. Purpose
This Agreement sets out the terms under which the bookstore will participate in the Books on
Shelves (BOS) shelf-rental and royalty programme, designed to boost visibility and sales
opportunities for independent authors while offering the bookstore risk-free earnings.
This agreement is not a contract but a registration form to express interest in joining the
scheme.
2. Participation Options
The bookstore may select one of the following options:
- Option 1: Ten (10) paperback books.
- Option 2: Twenty (20) paperback books.
The initial act of participation between the Parties will be to agree on general terms, including
genre, shelf position, recommended retail price (RRP), and author/title approval.
3. Printing and Distribution
BOS will, at its own cost, print and distribute the agreed number of paperback books to the
Bookstore.
4. Shelf-Rental Payment
BOS shall pay the Bookstore an up-front shelf-rental fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per book upon
placement on the shelf. Payment will be made within seven (7) days of confirmed placement.
5. Promotion and Sales
The Bookstore agrees to make every reasonable effort to display and promote the books,
including but not limited to, inclusion on its website and the author's profile.
In return, the Bookstore retains 100% of the sale proceeds of each book sold.
6. Term of Agreement
Participation Agreement. [This agreement] The term of this Agreement is twelve
(12) months. Thereafter, it continues by mutual consent.
BOS Agreement. [ Author agreement] Each title placed in the store is contracted for
nine (9) months from the date of shelf placement.
7. Unsold Books
At the end of the term, any unsold books will be offered back to BOS at a value equal to the
cartage rate. If BOS declines, the Bookstore may dispose of the stock at its discretion.
8. Future Participation
The Parties may mutually agree to extend participation to additional titles or authors.
9.. Credentials
Books on Shelves (BOS) is the trading entity of Still in Blue Jeans, ABN 266692556244. All
Books on Shelves initiatives, payments, and obligations are executed under this legal entity.
By completing this form the Bookstore is registering an interest in participating in the
BOS Scheme.
